skekSil is a character from Jim Henson's 1982 fantasy movie "The Dark Crystal", still one of my favorite movies ever since I first saw it.
skekSil is probably the best known Skeksis, he played a major role in the Dark Crystal and his whimpering voice is easily recognized. In the movie, skekSil's performer, the person inside the rig and costume, was none other than Frank Oz.
This drawing depicts skekSil after his banishment. His robes were taken from him and he is only wearing torn rags. His spirit is never broken however and soon the former Chamberlain starts plotting for his return to power.
I found my old Dark Crystal dvd and decided to watch it. This inspired me to draw some more Dark Crystal related art, previously I had drawn one of the Mystics or Uru.
There are eleven years between these two drawings and I'm glad to notice I have gotten a little better over the years!
This took me about seven hours al together, spread over two days.
The original drawing was by the master of fantasy himself, Brian Froud and all credit for designing the character and creating the artwork should go to him. I merely borrowed the Chamberlain for a while
I learned a lot from this drawing and had a lot of fun drawing this great character.
Thank you very much for such a nice comment, I appreciate that And the Chamberlain is just so nasty and always scheming for his own purposes, I lobe him!
Oh and one more thing,
Are you a man or a Muppet? XD
And the Chamberlain is just so nasty and always scheming for his own purposes, I lobe him!
Oh, and I'm a muppet of course
Anyways, awesome drawing!
